MUNYINYA HILL BURUNDI (WASHED) - Espresso Roast
Munyinya Hill is back for its second year! We originally planned to revisit their outstanding natural process, but the upgrades to their washing station made this season’s washed lot simply irresistible. The result is a coffee that’s every bit as sweet and delicious as before, with an impressively clean profile for an African bean.

Coffee farming in Burundi is rooted in smallholder communities, with each hill home to 60–140 families, most of whom rely on coffee as their sole cash crop. The average farmer tends just 115 trees, and each hill’s unique microclimate, soil, and altitude contribute to distinct coffee profiles. Long Miles Coffee traces every micro-lot by recording individual deliveries through its farmer card system, ensuring full traceability down to the hill level. The Bukeye Washing Station—where Munyinya is processed—uses a granite-filtered well to process washed coffees, and occasionally employs "footing," where a 25-person team dances on the parchment to remove residual mucilage after fermentation.
