BURUNDI - GIKU (WASHED)

This lot comes from Giku Hill in Burundi’s Butanyerera province, where 742 smallholder farmers deliver their cherries to the Ninga Washing Station, operated by Long Miles Coffee. Ninga was built to support this remote community after it became clear many farmers were travelling long distances just to access fair weighing and pricing for their harvest. Coffee trees grow everywhere on these hills, from the edges of narrow dirt paths to the doorsteps of farmers’ mud-brick homes. In a place this remote, coffee plays an important role in daily life. This fully washed Bourbon lot offers a vibrant, structured cup with lively acidity and a clean, balanced finish.
