COLOMBIA - PLANADAS ORGANIC (WASHED)

Planadas, in Colombia’s Tolima department, has become known for producing sweet, complex coffees in its cool mountain climate. This washed lot comes from smallholder producers working with ASOPEP and ASCISP, two local associations representing more than 230 farming families. The region has a remarkable recent history. Following Colombia’s 2016 peace agreement, many former combatants in the area moved into agriculture, with coffee becoming an important source of livelihood. Both associations now work on projects that support their coffee-growing communities and local biodiversity, while bringing together coffees from across Planadas to create this regional lot.
