Gutu Birre was born into a coffee farming family and grew up helping his father on their family farm. After years of experience on the farm, Gutu understood the economic importance of coffee farming and decided to expand the size of his farm. He currently produces coffee from a total of 3.8 hectares of land located in the village of Tulise in Yirgacheffe County, Ethiopia. His land is located on a higher altitude area where the combined effects of high altitude, superior coffee varieties and coffee processing techniques result in a complex and high quality cup.
