ETHIOPIA - SHIFERAW DUKALE (NATURAL)
Shiferaw Dukale was born in the highland coffee-growing village of Wegida, in Yirgacheffe. While being raised on a coffee farm, he learned sustainable farming practices, including intercropping coffee trees with other economically important plants. After inheriting a small portion of the family farm, Shiferaw has expanded to a total of 5.3 hectares and covered his lot with varieties of enset (false banana). Locally, food made from enset stem and this variety of coffee are served together on special occasions because both are known for their sweetness.
