KENYA - KAINAMUI (WASHED)

This delicious coffee comes from the Kirinyaga region in central Kenya. The region is home to Mount Kenya, which provides ideal coffee growing conditions for 1,800 smallholder farmers. The Kainamui washing station services the farmers of this region and is responsible for vigorously sorting and grading the cherries, separating them into microlots. The PB in the coffee name refers to ‘peaberry’ which is when the coffee cherry produces only a single, more rounded seed rather than a pair. The peaberry occurs in around 5% of the world's coffee cherries, hence this lot has been sorted to include only these cherries.
