Nong Kali is a serene village in southern Laos, known for its waterfalls, diverse ethnic culture, and small, family-run coffee plantations. The Bolaven Plateau, where Nong Kali is located, presents ideal coffee-growing conditions, thanks to its cool climate, fertile volcanic soil, and abundant rainfall. This particular coffee was produced by three families in the area, each of whom preferred, in this case, to use a very traditional honey process. With a focus on executing the fundamentals well, rather than experimenting with additional fermentations, the group has provided a perfectly approachable introduction to the delicious flavours of Lao coffee.
